Jacksonville International Airport
JAX is the largest airport near Jekyll Island, approximately 1 hour away. If you fly into JAX, you may choose to rent a car. However, ubers and lyfts are available to transport you to the island.

OUR FAVORITE ISLAND ACTIVITIES
JEKYLL ISLAND BEACHES
There are 10 miles of beaches on Jekyll Island - watch the sunrise from the iconic driftwood beach and end the day with a sunset at St. Andrew’s beach. If you’re staying at the Jekyll Island Club resort, enjoy complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas at the Ocean Club.
CROQUET
Jekyll Island’s favorite pastime! The croquet lawn is located at the center of the resort and can be arranged to be played in time slots. Equipment is provided and complimentary to resort guests.
BIKE RIDING
Jekyll Island is a cyclist’s paradise with 20 miles of paved bike paths, winding through forests, beaches, riverfront and the historic district.
BOATING (OF ALL KINDS)
The island’s expansive shoreline and bountiful waterways present many opportunities to get on the water. Hop aboard a fishing charter, spot dolphins playing in Georgia’s coastal waters, take a sunset or casino cruise or embark on an authentic shrimp boat experience with local skippers.
GOLF
Tee it up and enjoy the links. The centrally located Jekyll Island Golf Club features three 18 hole golf courses and the historic 9 hole course. In addition to oceanside views, you’ll also probably see Chase.
OUR FAVORITE LOCAL BITES
EIGHTY OCEAN KITCHEN & BAR
Eighty Ocean Kitchen & Bar offers oceanfront dining, featuring a menu centered around lowcountry dining and coastal cuisine. We recommend having dinner here either before or after the welcome party.
THE WHARF
The Wharf is a casual dining venue situated on the pier. This spot is perfect to grab a cocktail and watch the island’s best sunsets.
THE PANTRY
The go-to spot for a casual breakfast or lunch. The Pantry has takeout options that are perfect to enjoy on the veranda or in the courtyard. You can also request a personalized picnic basket of bites to enjoy anywhere on the island.
ZACHARY’S RIVERHOUSE
Zachary’s Riverhouse is a charming restaurant located on the water. Enjoy fresh seafood and southern hospitality.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS...
Q&A
How do I RSVP?
We sure hope you’ll be able to join us for our special day. Once you know your plans, come back and RSVP right here on the website.
Tell me more about the dinner entree options!
Guests have a choice of one of the following: Chesapeake Crabcakes with pickled fennel slaw & citrus butter sauce, herb risotto; Grilled Ashley Farms Chicken Breast with asparagus risotto, local vegetables, brie and caramelized onions; or Charcoal Grilled New York Strip with southern steak butter and roasted fingerling potatoes
When does the ceremony start?
The ceremony will begin promptly at five o’clock, music begins at half past four o’clock.
How do I get to the welcome party and wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?
The welcome party will be hosted at the Jekyll Ocean Club property (80 Ocean Way, Jekyll Island, GA). If you are staying at the Jekyll Island Club House, the resort will have bus transportation every 30 minutes between the Club House and The Ocean Club. Note, if you are staying at the Westin on Jekyll Island, you can walk from the Westin to the Jekyll Ocean Club. If you are staying at a different property on the island, you should only be a quick bike ride or drive away.
On the wedding day, if you’re staying at the Jekyll Island Club Resort, transportation will not be needed. Crane Cottage is a 5 minute walk from the main hotel. If you decide to stay at a different location on the island, you may prefer to take an Uber or Lyft to the ceremony. However, Lyfts and Ubers are not always readily available. We recommend scheduling your ride in advance.
All wedding events, including the after party, will be at the same location - Crane Cottage.
What happens if it rains on the wedding day?
While we hope this isn’t the case, we will host our ceremony at The Faith Chapel (1904 Schoolhouse Ln, Jekyll Island, GA). The Faith Chapel is a 2 minute walk from both Crane Cottage and The Jekyll Island Club Resort. In the event of rain, we will communicate the rain plan to all our guests.
What happens if it rains during the welcome party?
If there’s moderate rain, the welcome party will still continue at the Ocean Club Terrace. However, if there are significant weather concerns, then the drinks & desserts will be relocated to the Pulitzer Room and Aspinwall Rotunda at the Jekyll Island Clubhouse (371 Riverview Drive, Jekyll Island, GA). In the event of rain, we will communicate the rain plan to all our guests.
What is the wedding day dress code?
Black Tie Optional
We ask that men wear a tuxedo or dark suit and tie. Ladies, an evening gown or a midi- or tea-length dress would be preferred.
What is the welcome party dress code?
Coastal Cocktail
We suggest men wear a long or short-sleeved shirt with khaki or similar pants. We recommend ladies wear a sundress or dressy separates, like a matching linen set.
Coastal colors & patterns encouraged!
What should I wear for the pool day?
Swimwear, of course!
What’s the plan for the pool?
Stop by the Jekyll Island Club Resort cabanas at your leisure. One cabana will have the Notre Dame game on and the other cabana will have the Ohio State game on - Go Irish! There is a pool bar and grille for anyone looking for lunch.
What’s the weather in Jekyll Island this time of year?
The weather should be very temperate with average highs of low 80’s and average lows of high 60’s.
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to the size of our guest list, we cannot accommodate extra people at the wedding. We only have spaces for the guests listed on your invitation.
